Two Different Worlds (A picture of forever)
I don't think love or fate paves our way to someone we are destined to be with. As far as I know about love, it lies in the hands of two strong individuals to stay bonded through it all. And if any chance it isn’t enough, it's up to them if they'll go straight apart, or fight for it.
There once a little girl who's raised in a not-so-strict way. Her dark skin like chocolate used to veil her hidden beauty. Some of her classmates back then tease her untidy look. She was brought up in a small barrio where she had to walk about 4 kilometers in getting to school. Stinky and dirty, she walks home with few friends upon catching fishes in the pond. Sometimes, she accompanies her skilled father in diving the sea, carrying goggles, bow and arrow. They catch fishes for meals and give some to their neighbours whenever there's an excess. I can't really imagine how she felt lying in bed at the end of the day. Was she happy? Was she tucked by her parents at night? Or not? I don't know. But I can say she grew up exposed to the real practical world where she had to learn cooking and share whatever she has with her two brothers and one sister at a very young age. There was never a scar that showed to me about her fish-catching days, other than the little circles around her legs.
Another chapter was added to the pages of her story. Her Aunt brought here into the center of the province, where life is a little different. She met this guy from the relatives of her Aunt's husband. She really didn't mind entertaining him as a suitor.
Both of them studied at the same college, but different courses. This guy stayed on her side even though the lady kept trying to push him away. She used to reject things about him. But he was patient-to-the-bones! He never walked away and stop proving what he felt was true. I remember when he told me, "I never left on her side to lean on.", he described himself.
Years came by and a little change between the two of them happened. That time, they became closer and the lady begun to open her heart for him. It was a clever thing that this man introduced everything about him and offered his world just to own the lady's heart. Love is really a potion that can transform people's minds and abilities. People even get to write poems and love letters when in fact they’ve never done it before.
Time goes by and the two of them became lovers. After a long wait and patience, the girl walked through the church aisle and both of them got married. They showed me the pictures and it was fearless in such a way that it was a bad weather, floods and mud were everywhere on the way to their home. Some were riding the vehicles, carrying somebody behind their backs, and helping each other to push the vehicle through the muddy water and that just what makes brave to think about.
But the story never ends on the wedding day. It was rather the beginning of a new juncture called marriage. A lot of circumstances knocked them down and twisted their life as a couple. There were times that they don't understand each other. There came some points when they were screaming and fighting for their side and starting to separate their children. But they raised their children not with genius minds but with loving hearts. They know, and I know, that at the back of their minds, they still want to fix everything, swallow the pride and save their relationship. I think they already realized that nothing is to be figured out if they just work it all together, despite their differences, even though her husband was a spoiled-youngest-son of a not-poor family, a hard-headed and a prideful one.
Now we know that love is a different thing. It may come easily, but one thing is for sure: letting it go depends on the beholders. According to a celebrity I admire singing, "if you find the perfect match, it could be worth it." Well, it can never be a perfect match, but maybe, just a true match. No matter how complicated and different your world is getting, it would still be our decisions that make up our own serendipity.
